Player Code Of Conduct

 

SMFA PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT 

1) Never argue with an official.
If you disagree, have your captain, coach, or manager approach the official during a break or after the competition.

2) Control your temper.
Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted in any sport.

3) Drug, alcohol, tobacco, and vape use is strictly prohibited at the football field. If you see others using these substances, remove yourself from the situation.

4) Treat all players as you would like to be treated.
Do not interfere with, bully, or take unfair advantage of another player.

5) Respect your opponents.

6) Do your best to be a true team player.

7) Remember that having fun, improving skills, making friends, and doing your best are just as important as winning a game.

8) Acknowledge all good players/performances; those of your team and of your opponents.

9) Remember that coaches and officials are there to help you. Accept their decisions and show them respect.

10) Be on time for practices and games. Communicate absences in advance.

11) You are responsible for the gear and uniforms that you are given to use. Take care of it so that it is returned in good clean condition for the next athlete.

12) You are a representative of your team and community at all times. Bullying and other abusive behaviour off of the field will also not be tolerated.

13) Failure to abide by the above rules and guidelines will result in disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:
• Verbal warning by official, Head Coach, and/or SMFA Executive.
• Written warning.
• Player game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by organizations involved.
• Game forfeit through the official or Head Coach.
• Player season suspension.
Disciplinary Process is Subject to Board Discretion
